And we had the time of our lives!

Last week, we went on a much awaited trip to Kovalam and it was an amazing trip.
We enjoyed very bit..the train journey, the beautiful resort, the mind blowing food and of course the fun company...well maybe not everything..there was that one bit when I wanted to run away from it all..when we saw the Kathakali guy!!

ps: Note how Im missing from that last pic. :)

Happy Mothers Day!

I have been waiting for this day for a week now. I tried to get daddy to help me plan it, but when daddy shouted at me for putting mysterious packets in the fridge, I decided to do this alone.

The day before mothers day, I smuggled in a smelly, strange looking bag into the fridge. No one was allowed to touch it else "The surprise would be ruined".

When mommy woke up, I rushed to the fridge and brought out said packet and emptied the contents on her head, screaming "Happy Mothers day". What was in the bag you ask? Confetti! Sticky confetti! From the bean bags that are in the living room!! Confetti that had been put in the fridge the night before so that "It would be as cold as snow"!

Mommy was then told to "Relax and wait for her breakfast"

I brought out a bowl of cereal with milk. I had added in cream by mistake and mommy just had to continue smiling and eat the cereal and not give in to the gag reflex that she has when eating 'malai'.

When she went to the kitchen, she saw cereal on the counter and on the floor. She saw the milk spilled on the counter. The milk container and the cereal box were both abandoned on the counter.

As she put those away, and cleaned the kitchen and cleaned up the sticky confetti, among all the thoughts of being so lucky for being mommy to the best little girl in the world, I have a strong suspicion, she was also thanking her stars that mothers day comes once a year!

Sassiness anyone?

"You cant really be that sick.....You still have the energy to shout at me"

Overheard at the breakfast table...

At the breakfast table, when some milk dropped on the night suit, heres what was heard muttered under the breath
"Good thing Im not a real princess, coz princesses have to wear pretty gowns to breakfast..and I would have ended up spoiling a nice gown"!

Thank heavens for small mercies!

A long forgotten essay

Mommy has been really really lazy. There was this beautiful essay I wrote a few months ago, as part of my homework.
Mommy forgot to give it the credit that was due :(

Thankfully she did take a picture of it before I submitted it at school.

Tourist in my city

So the Metro has been around for a bit and mommy hadnt found the time to take me to ride it. It had been on mommy's bucket list since the last set of holidays but we never got around to it... Nah! Thats not really mommys bucket list for life. That one is a much bigger one with more exotic destinations to visit. But we do make these mini bucket lists for each vacation and generally end up ticking off nothing at all.

Big achievement this!

Anyway, so mommy decided we need to exploit the public transportation system and we took the bus all the way to MG Road. We stopped by at Higgin Bothoms ..picked up 2 Enid Blytons and then headed off to the Metro Station.

We rode the Metro all the way to the last stop and back. Beautiful ride!

Next stop- Mini Melts. LOVED these!!

Lunch an Nandos followed by desert at Krispy Kreme  and then another cup of mini melts.

Stopover at a bookstore where there were 11 cats!!!!! I had so much fun with these cats. Mommy had to drag me out of the shop kicking and screaming.

Bus ride back home.

A fun day was had by both of us. Mommy of course thinks she deserves a gold medal for all this and has not stopped talking about how awesome she is!

ps: Pics will be uploaded as soon as mommy figures out how to transfer them from the phone to the blog directly!

Summer vacation!

We are so enjoying these days of sleeping in, drinking mango milkshakes, hanging out in the pool, fun playdates, endless reading, mindless TV watching!

Another month of vacation left...we still have so much to do..and so little time!

An update on the Ramayana post

"So remember in Ice Age, Manny tells Sid that in a herd you always watch out for each other and take care of each other..? Rama didnt really take care of his herd..he left is wife in the forest. Thats not taking care of your herd is it?"

Daddy is trigger happy

The legacy continues..

When we visited Bombay in October, Vaiju aunty had gifted me some of mommy favorite books- The enchanted woods, the magic faraway tree and The folk of the faraway tree.

And I think that was the moment I fell in love with books by Enid Blytons! I read the entire 3 part series and was hungry for more. So we went to my grandparents house and picked up the very same Enid Blytons that mommy read when she was little.

I cant wait to read the rest when my ajja and mamama return from the US.

Thank you Vaiju aunty..you have started, what my mommy hopes is a lifelong love for books!

Why did Rama abandon Sita???

Mommy decided its time to introduce me to our great mythology and of course like most other plans, this one has come right back to bite her in the ..er..tushy

So I read a kids version of the book yesterday and as always have a truck load of questions for mommy to answer

"Why did Rama leave Sita in the forest?..After he had fought so hard for her and after he had burnt an entire city down? It doesnt even make sense!!"

"So when Sita got swallowed by the earth, did she get smushed by all that dirt around her? And once she got swallowed, where exactly did she go???"

"Also, Dashrath had THREE wives???? Is that allowed? How is it that we do not know people with three wives?????""I do know someone with 2 mommies tho'..remember Krishna has 2 mommies."

"I feel sad that Rama didnt get to see his kids as babies..but then its his own fault. He left their mommy in the forest. But I feel sad the babies didnt have a daddy..and it wasnt their fault"

Oh and when mommy asked me what I had understood from the whole story

"Laxman fainted twice in the story"-THAT was my main takeaway from the great epic!!!!!

Our family has grown..

Whats better than 1 baby brother?

"Two baby brothers!!!"

Yes Rishi, born on the 5th of April, completes our family.

Cant wait to see you little baby!

Trisha-ism for the day

After a particularly lo oooong day at the Shenoy household, after mommy has spent a better half of the day shouting at the child
When putting said child to bed, mommy hugs and kisses child and feels the maternal love take over.

Mommy-"Trisha what would I have done without you?"

T: (With a huge sigh)"Probably have shouted a lot less"!!!

Guess who is coming back soon!

From the day Ajja and mamama left for Santa Clara, I have been maintaining a count down calender! And finally I have just 1 more day to strike off!!

Today mommy went over to get their house in order. After reaching there, she realized that the door wouldnt open. The neighbors collected and different people tried their luck..but the door wouldnt budge!

And since it was a Sunday, there was no locksmith available :(

Finally she managed to get one from Just Dial who turned up an hour later and finally managed to open it..with no damage to the door nor to the lock!Hurray!

Anyway the house is ready, the fridge is stocked..and now we can move to counting down in hours!!!

Another tooth bites the dust!!

16 Sept 2012

I lost my 2nd tooth yesterday. It has been hanging by the skin for over a month now! Yesterday it finally fell off and the kind tooth fairy visited us again!

I have no clue how she knows about the laptop shaped eraser that I have wanted for a while now! Imagine my surprise when I saw the tiny purple laptop by my bedside when I woke up this morning!

Because of the gap in my teeth, I have a tiny lisp when I speak :)
