Doras tween years :(
Nickelodeon and Mattel, who own the rights to Dora have decided to fast forward Dora to her tween years and mommy is NOT happy. The reason she likes Dora and likes me liking Dora is that Dora is a healthy, happy, normal looking girl without a twisted body image. And now tween Dora is going to give up walking along the country side along with Map and Backback and Tico and Iza and move to the city, sport a cell phone and sport a new fashionable look.
Mommy wishes the makers of Dora would just leave her alone and let her be the little girl that we all love.

Picture day at school
This is what mommy wanted me to wear for picture day...
..But this is what I ended up wearing..yes cap included!
When mommy opened the closet to take out the dress she wanted me to wear, I spotted the outfit that I wanted and insisted (read threw a tantrum)..so mommy caved in..turns out I wanted the cap too..and no matter how much mommy cajoled me..I refused to give it up.
I even had the cap on for the class pic!
..But this is what I ended up wearing..yes cap included!

Of allergies and skin issues

As some of you know, I have been struggling with some skin issues for a while. My first outbreak was the day after my first birthday. I broke out into a red and angry rash and mommy rushed with me to kaiser. After meeting with 2 pediatricians, they diagonsed it to be some kind of an allergy and chalked it up to the amoxicillan I had taken a couple of days earlier to fight off a ear infection. The second outbreak was just a couple of weeks later and again the rash was back. I had about 4 outbeaks in the time that we were in the US.
We forgot about this for a while and as you know we moved to India in June of last year. At the end of June, after my cousins birthday party, I broke out into a bad rash. Soon after that another of my friends had a birthday party and guess what..the rash returned.. See a pattern here?..yeah mommy thought she did too.."Chocolate cake" she said.."We mustnt allow Trisha any chocolate cake"..so that was the end of my chocolate cake days.
I was rash free for the next few months..then fast forward to Jan 2009. The day after my birthday party I woke up with swollen eyes and a red and itchy face..so we rushed to my pediatrician who precribed Cetzine..the rash took a good 15 days to subside. Its been a month since then and my allergy issues havent been resolved.
We saw a dermatologist last week who prescribed some steroidal ointment..mommy isnt too thrilled about using steroids for me..so we went and met with a homeopathic doctor yesterday. So I have started taking little white pills everyday!
Mommy cant figure out what the allergen is..she thought it was cocoa (im still allergic to cocoa..but I break out into a rash even when there isnt any chocolate around)..it could be the fresh cream frosting..or like Kripa aunty pointed out last week..it might even be the latex in the balloons at birthday parties.
Well whatever the allergen..I hope we can resolve these skin issues soon..Im a little tired of being itchy all day long :(
