Im 5 weeks old and finally today I graduated from my lactation class!!
For those of you who came in late..heres the story so far.
My mommy struggled with lactation for the past 5 weeks..I took waaaaaaay too long to learn to latch on. By the end of the 2nd week she was ready to give up! But my grandma and Toral aunty kept nudging her on..So every 2 days she would go in to the lactation consultants at Kaiser and they would try and find new ways to help me latch on.
Today..after 5 LONG weeks I finally graduated! I have finally learnt to latch on!
Thank you grandma..thank you Toral aunty!

You know the non stop crying that I do...well it just got worse...last night I cried CONTINUOUSLY from 6:30 pm till 2:00 am!!!!
Mommy is at her wits end and doesnt know what to do with me..she has tried every trick in the book. Many of you sent her useful suggestions..stuff that had worked for your little ones...somehow none of that seems to work for me :(

Don't mind me, it's simply the crying hour
Every night, between 6-11 p.m., I cry for absolutely no reason. Anyone have any ideas about how to help me??
I am 1 month old!

Nama karana- Naming Ceremony
02/04/2007
The ceremony of naming a child. Nama literally means 'name' and karana means 'to make, to effect'.
On Sunday my folks had a small naming ceremony for me. Just immediate family and Neetu aunty and family.
Now I have 5 other names- one from each set of grandparents, one from Mommys sister-Gowri, one from Daddys sister Asha and one from daddys other sister -Geeta.
Of course Im still going to be called Trisha by everyone.
After the naming ceremony I got tons of gifts.

Day 6
01/29/2007
They say in the old tales that the sixth night after a child is born, the Vidhata (Lord Brahma) comes down to earth himself to decide what its fortune is to be. That is why they leave milk and sugar by the cradle. They also leave a sheet of paper so that Lord Brahma may write her fate on it. Everyone prays that only good luck and good fortune may be written in her future.
Mondaynight, my grandma left out such a tray and everyone prayed that I may have only good things in my future.
