Im a big kid now!

Today , at Trader Joes, I sat in the shopping cart for the first time. I know some of you are reading this and shaking your head saying "tsk..tsk wheres the seat protector?"...well....mommy has to go buy one! She didnt realize that I would be ready to sit in the cart so soon :)
But if its any consolation..she did clean the cart with the sanitizing wipes before putting me in.

Today I met my friend Katie after 2 whole weeks. We were so excited to see each other! Heres a video of the two of us catching up :) She says her mommy has been feeding her those yucky carrots too..I guess thats how things are for us little people...sigh

I can sit

I learnt to sit a few days ago. But up until today I couldnt sit for more than 5 minutes. Today I sat for over 15 minutes without toppling over.
This beautiful dress was gifted to me by Mona aunty.

My first tooth popped out today!
Daddy was the first to notice it. Mommy is trying really hard to get pictures but Im determined to keep my mouth clenched shut.

Labor day weekend

Mommys cousin Vivek visited us from Chicago. We had a great time with him. Took him around sight seeing.Went to San Francisco, Monterey, Carmel etc.
He left for Chicago on the 4th. And i miss him tons. I have been super cranky all day yesterday since he left:(
On the 4th, Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary..This anniversary was the most special one so far because of me!

I had my first haircut today. I sat ever so quietly on daddys lap and admired myself in the mirror :)

Relay for Life 2007

Mommy, Daddy and I participated in the Relay for Life - Palo Alto. We walked the tracks in memory of Binny bhaiya.
This year there were twice as many people at the Relay...While this is good because there were more people to raise funds..it also means more people were affected by a friend of family members fight with cancer :(
In this past year, since the Relay for Life 2006, there have already been so many losses...Nirali, Piyush, Leya , Aditya. These are children from the South Asian community who fought really hard but finally got tired and went to be with God. Our hearts go out to the broken families they leave behind.
On a brighter note, Vinay who was looking for a match has found a donor and was transplanted 2 days ago. We keep him close in our thoughts and prayers.
Unfortunately, a very small percentage of South Asians (Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans and Bangladeshis) are registered to be marrow donors. South Asians comprise approximately only 1% of the National Marrow Donor Registry.
South Asians in the US who are reading this message, if you arent registered already..I urge you to do so. Those interested can register with AADP (covering NorCal) at www.AADP.org, A3M (covering SoCal) at www.AsianMarrow.org or SAMAR (covering NY) at www.samarinfo.org
This helps not only those who are fighting cancer but it also helps people fighting various blood disorders. Varun we are thinking of how you bravely fought Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome and then earned your angel wings.
